The Maryland Department of Health (MDH), Morgan State University (MSU) and the Maryland State Council on Child Abuse and Neglect (SCANN) are inviting you to a visioning session where participants will generate priorities and recommendations to include in the legislatively required SCCAN Annual report focused on racial equity within the child welfare and supporting systems
The session will promote awareness and understanding of the historical impact of institutional policy on children of color in the child welfare and supporting systems and reimagine a more equitable response to families and communities in their efforts to promote safe, stable, and nurturing relationships and environments for children. Participants will gain knowledge of actions they can take to improve the current response to child maltreatment; and, their experiences and insights will help to inform the recommendations of the SCCAN to improve child and family serving systems.
